2001 MVCTC Graphic Commercial Arts Alumni Publishes Book

10/13/2014

Englewood, Ohio - Miami Valley Career Technology Center (MVCTC) 2001 Graphic Commercial Arts graduate, Leslie Klenke, is a published author with her first book “Paleo Girl”.  Leslie, originally from Vandalia-Butler High School, turned her passion for a healthy lifestyle into a career and authored her book with the goal of helping teen girls have a better self-image and lead a healthy lifestyle.

Leslie graduated from the MVCTC Graphic Commercial Art program in 2001 and went on to earn her Bachelor’s Degree in Visual Communication Technologies with a minor in Entrepreneurship from Bowling Green State University.  Soon after graduation, Leslie was offered a job in Los Angeles with Goodie Two Sleeves, as a designer.  She worked her way up to Art Director for Goodie Two Sleeves.

Leslie has always had a passion for health and fitness, while in Los Angeles she was introduced to the Primal Lifestyle/Paleo Diet. The Primal Lifestyle emphasizes living more like our ancestors did, eat more protein and be active.

As shared on Leslie’s web page, “After living a Primal lifestyle for three years, Leslie met Mark Sisson (the founder of the Primal movement and author of The Primal Blueprint) at PrimalCon Oxnard in April of 2013. She kept in touch with Mark and enthusiastically pitched her idea for Paleo Girl a month later. It was then that she finally found a way to merge her passions of art and health: proudly writing, designing and shooting much of the photography for Paleo Girl.”

Leslie attribute her Graphic Art education at MVCTC with setting her on the right path for her current success.  She has been able to make a career of her passions and has written a very inspiring book for teen girls.
