MVCTC Sports Medicine Students Advance to District Science Fair

Englewood, Ohio - Miami Valley Career Technology Center (MVCTC) was represented by 12 Sports Medicine Students competing in the County Science Fair held March 7, at the Dayton Convention Center.  Of the 12 competitors seven students qualified with their project to participate in the District Science Fair being held on Saturday, March 21 at Central State University. The seven students competing at the District Competition are:

 

  • Savannah Brumley, junior from Miamisburg
  • Paige Chaney, senior from Bethel
  • Makala Clements, senior from Miamisburg
  • Elizabeth Drew, senior from Huber Heights
  • Megan Duffy, senior from Tri-County North
  • Jayna Lee, junior from Eaton
  • Tyler Nutt, junior from Vandalia

 

In order for students to advance from the county level to the district contest, students must achieve a score of 34-40 total points on the judge’s evaluation.  Students are judged on their knowledge of the subject matter, scientific method exhibited, clarity of expression, and originality/creativity. 

 

The other five MVCTC students that qualified to compete at the county level are Tristian Broski (Northmont), Holley Flach (New Lebanon), Morgen Grafton (Miamisburg), Casey Pollard (Northmont), and Jordan Stickley (Franklin Monroe).

 

For over 40-years, MVCTC has been providing career technical education for 27 partner school districts encompassing five counties in Southwest Ohio.  MVCTC is dedicated to providing in-demand workforce training for youth, adults, and organizations in the Miami Valley.
