Congrats to the 2015 NTHS Inductees

Englewood, Ohio – Miami Valley Career Technology Center (MVCTC) inducted 66 students into National Technical Honor Society (NTHS) on Sunday, March 22, 2015. The NTHS students as well as their honored educators from MVCTC and their partner school district, were recognized in a ceremony at MVCTC in front of family and friends.

 

Students are selected for NTHS based on the following requirements: a 3.75 grade point average or higher, 97 percent attendance, passed all parts of the Ohio Graduation Test and instructor recommendations. Each of the 2015 inductees is the recipient of a $500 scholarship made possible through the partnership of the MVCTC Education Foundation and the Mathile Family Foundation. 

 

  • Jesse Applegate (Tri County North) enrolled in the Digital Design Technology program at MVCTC, chose to honor as his most significant educators, Frank Wright (Math Instructor at MVCTC) and Ron Schaar of Tri County North.  Jesse is the son of John Applegate of Dayton and Martina Applegate from Brookville.
  • Alyssa Artz (Wayne) enrolled in the Allied Health Technologies program at MVCTC, chose to honor as her most significant educators, Ellen Bissey (Allied Health Technologies Instructor at MVCTC) and Kelli Soukup from Huber Heights.  Alyssa is the daughter of Tom and Rita Hupp of Huber Heights.
  • Brooke Bayer (Milton Union) enrolled in the Animal Care and Management program at MVCTC, chose to honor as her most significant educators, Roberta Phillips (Business Electives Instructor at MVCTC) and Luke Kinninger of Milton Union.  Brooke is the daughter of Jeff and Glenna Bayer of Troy.
  • Kendall Benning (Northmont) enrolled in the Sports Management and Marketing program at MVCTC, chose to honor as her most significant educator, Zach Gueth (Sports Management & Marketing Instructor at MVCTC).  Kendall is the daughter of James and Shelia Benning of Clayton.
  • Alicia Bentz (Wayne) enrolled in the Allied Health Technologies program at MVCTC, chose to honor as her most significant educators, Ellen Bissey (Allied Health Technologies Instructor at MVCTC) and Kelli Soukup of Huber Heights.  Alicia is the daughter of Brian and Kelly Bentz of Huber Heights.
  • Angelica Boyatt (National Trail) enrolled in the Allied Health Technologies program at MVCTC, chose to honor as her most significant educators, Ellen Bissey (Allied Health Technologies Instructor at MVCTC) and Diane Alexander of National Trail.  Angelica is the daughter of Nicole Moore from Eldorado.
  • Julia Brady (Milton Union) enrolled in the Aviation Maintenance Technician program at MVCTC, chose to honor as her most significant educators, Dar Borradaile (Aviation Maintenance Technician Instructor at MVCTC) and Mary August of Milton Union.  Julia is the daughter of Timothy and Evelyn Brady of Vandalia.
  • Caitlin Braughton (Tri County North) enrolled in the Allied Health Technologies program at MVCTC, chose to honor as her most significant educators, Tonya Barnett (Allied Health Technologies Instructor at MVCTC) and Shelly Frank of Tri County North.  Caitlin is the daughter of Herschel and Bobbi Braughton of Lewisburg.
  • Alexander Bryant (Northmont) enrolled in the Aviation Maintenance Technician program at MVCTC, chose to honor as his most significant educator, Doug Pultz (English Instructor at MVCTC).  Alexander is the son of Bill and Jennifer Bryant of Dayton.
  • Samuel Buchanan (Brookville) enrolled in the Aviation Maintenance Technician program at MVCTC, chose to honor as his most significant educators, Richelle Zbinden (Math Instructor at MVCTC) and Ann Stammen of Brookville.  Samuel is the son of Michael and Holly Buchanan of Brookville.
  • Mitchell Bussard (Tri County North) enrolled in the Business Ownership program at MVCTC, chose to honor as his most significant educators, Mandy Watts (Business Ownership Instructor at MVCTC) and William Derringer of Tri County North.  Mitchell is the son of Randy and Tammara Bussard of Lewisburg.
  • Ashlee Bussen (Miami East) enrolled in the Health Careers Academy program at MVCTC, chose to honor as her most significant educators, Tonya Wiltshire (Health Careers Academy Instructor at MVCTC) and Marie Carity of Miami East.  Ashlee is the daughter of Shawn and Kristie Bussen of Troy.

  • Adam Daniels (Wayne) enrolled in the Heavy Equipment Operator program at MVCTC, chose to honor as his most significant educators, Ron Kauffman (Heavy Equipment Operator Instructor at MVCTC) and Rick Showers of Huber Heights.  Adam is the son of Don and Tammy Daniels of Huber Heights.
  • Megan Duffy (Tri County North) enrolled in the Sports Medicine program at MVCTC, chose to honor as her most significant educators, Matt Money (Sports Medicine Instructor at MVCTC) and Jim Conway of Tri County North.  Megan is the daughter of Daniel and Jennifer Duffy of Lewisburg.
  • Francine Durham (Eaton) enrolled in the Graphic Commercial Art program at MVCTC, chose to honor as her most significant educators, Jack Spitler (Graphic Commercial Art Instructor at MVCTC) and Kevin Kochensparger of Eaton.  Francine is the daughter of Mike and Gwen Durham of Eaton.
  • Morgan Ellis (Arcanum) enrolled in the Dental Assistant program at MVCTC, chose to honor as her most significant educators, Rob Klepinger (Science Instructor at MVCTC) and Andrew Bryant of Arcanum.  Morgan is the daughter of Todd and Karla Ellis of Arcanum.
  • Allison Flora (Franklin Monroe) enrolled in the Allied Health Technologies program at MVCTC, chose to honor as her most significant educators, Tonya Barnett (Allied Health Technologies Instructor at MVCTC) and Andrea Bullmaster of Franklin Monroe.  Allison is the daughter of Brian and Marie Flora of Greenville.

  • Taylor Giles (Northmont) enrolled in the Graphic Commercial Art program at MVCTC, chose to honor as her most significant educators, Jack Spitler (Graphic Commercial Art Instructor at MVCTC) and Matt Shaltry of Northmont.  Taylor is the daughter of Melvin and Deborah Giles of Englewood.
  • Kelsey Glaze (Northmont) enrolled in the GIS & Technical Intelligence program at MVCTC, chose to honor as her most significant educators, Amy Sugden (Computer Technology Academy Instructor at MVCTC) and Chrissy Hall of Northmont.  Kelsey is the daughter of Mike Glaze of West Carrollton and Shari Glaze from Clayton.
  • Ty-Asia Griggs (West Carrollton) enrolled in the Allied Health Technologies program at MVCTC, chose to honor as her most significant educators, Ellen Bissey (Allied Health Technologies Instructor at MVCTC) and Michael Newman of West Carrollton.  Ty-Asia is the daughter of Anthony  and Tiffany Buckner of West Carrollton.
  • Austin Hammaker (Tri County North) enrolled in the Biotechnology program at MVCTC, chose to honor as his most significant educators, Beth Hughes (English Instructor at MVCTC) and Rusty Hutchinson of Tri County North.  Austin is the son of Denis and Heidi Hammaker of Lewisburg.
  • Samantha Hatfield (Carlisle) enrolled in the Health Careers Academy program at MVCTC, chose to honor as her most significant educators, Tonya Wiltshire (Health Careers Academy Instructor at MVCTC) and Greg De Hart of Carlisle.  Samantha is the daughter of John and Kelly Hatfield of Carlisle.
  • Taylor Hayslett (Tri County North) enrolled in the Aviation Maintenance Technician program at MVCTC, chose to honor as her most significant educators, Eric Bickel (Aviation Maintenance Technician Instructor at MVCTC) and Terra Moniaci of Tri County North.  Taylor is the daughter of Brad and Kim Hayslett of Lewisburg.

  • Ryan Helton (Wayne) enrolled in the Agriculture Resource Management program at MVCTC, chose to honor as his most significant educator, Bill Hershberger (Agriculture Resources Management Instructor at MVCTC).  Ryan is the son of Rick and Jennifer Helton of Huber Heights.
  • Rachel Hines (Milton Union) enrolled in the Dental Assistant program at MVCTC, chose to honor as her most significant educators, Jessica Knisley (Science Instructor at MVCTC) and Evelyn Brady of Milton Union.  Rachel is the daughter of Michael and Linda Hines of Arcanum.
  • Marcus Horner (Franklin Monroe) enrolled in the Construction Carpentry program at MVCTC, chose to honor as his most significant educators, Kelly Kramer (Construction Carpentry Instructor at MVCTC) and Troy Myers of Franklin Monroe.  Marcus is the son of Dave and Kami Horner of Pitsburg.

  • Kenneth Howe (Dixie) enrolled in the Computer Network Engineering program at MVCTC, chose to honor as his most significant educators, Frank Wright (Math Instructor at MVCTC) and Catharine Ledford-Jones of Dixie.  Kenneth is the son of Terry Howe of Brookville and Vanessa Howe from New Lebanon.

  • December Strawser (Tri County North) enrolled in the Early Childhood Education program at MVCTC, chose to honor as her most significant educators, Darnice Wilkinson (Early Childhood Education Instructor at MVCTC) and Ron Schaar of Tri County North.  December is the daughter of David and Vanessa Strawser from Lewisburg.
  • Trey Summers (Tri County North) enrolled in the Aviation Maintenance Technician program at MVCTC, chose to honor as his most significant educators, Kiley Beyer (English Instructor at MVCTC) and William Derringer of Tri County North.  Trey is the son of David and Cindy Summers from Lewisburg.
