MVCTC Students Qualify for HOSA National Competition

Columbus, Ohio – Miami Valley Career Technology Center (MVCTC) students in the Health Occupations Students of America (HOSA) Chapter recently competed at the State HOSA Competition and 22 students qualified to move on to the National Leadership Conference this June in Anaheim, CA.

 

MVCTC students’ qualifying for the national contest include:

 

  • The Forensic Medicine Team of Kaylee Bledsoe (Health Careers Academy student from Valley View) and Abigail Williams (Biotechnology student from Valley View) placed 3rd in the state contest.
  • The Medical Innovation Team of Samantha Hatfield (Health Careers Academy student from Carlisle) and Dominique Randle (Allied Health student from West Carrollton) placed 3rd in the state contest.
  • The Parliamentary Procedure Team of Drake Dixon (Health Careers Academy student from Valley View); Tiffany Doyle (Health Careers Academy student from Bethel); Britany Holbert (Health Careers Academy student from Brookville); Montana Jack (Health Careers Academy student from Miamisburg); Ella Madlinger (Allied Health student from Brookville); Kathryn Peterman (Health Careers Academy student from Northmont); and Anna Shockey (Allied Health student from Brookville) won 1st place in the state contest.
  • Cassidy Branch (Allied Health student from West Carrollton) placed 3rd in the state Human Growth and Development Contest.
  • Lillian Goffinet (Health Careers Academy student from Tipp City) placed 3rd in the Epidemiology Contest.
  • McKenze Moss (Biotechnology student from Trotwood) won 1st Place in the Biomedical Laboratory Science contest.
  • Luke Thies (Biotechnology student from Tri-County North) placed 3rd in the Biomedical Laboratory Science contest.
  • Emily Tran (Allied Health student from Huber Heights) won the Medical Spelling contest.
  • Sarah Witmer (Allied Health student from Tri-Village) won the Medical Reading contest.
  • Other students attending the National Conference include Jessica Kimball (Health Careers Academy student from Arcanum) and Abigail Williams (Biotechnology student from Valley View) will present their HOSA Happenings Projects and Alicia Bentz (Health Careers Academy student from Huber Heights) will present her Outstanding HOSA Chapter Project.
  • Anna Shockey (Allied Health student from Brookville) was elected Ohio HOSA State Treasurer for the 2015-2016 school year.
