Veterans Day 2015

Englewood, Ohio – The Miami Valley Career Technology Center (MVCTC) will be hold the annual observance of Veterans Day on Wednesday, November 11, 2015. Staff and students across the school will be contributing to this meaningful and moving day. Among the activities scheduled:

  • A reveille performed by the Air Force Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps at 9 a.m.
  • Posters honoring veterans on the MVCTC staff
  • Various bulletin boards around school will display signs and pictures explaining and celebrating Veterans Day. 
  • Teachers presenting special Veterans Day lessons.
  • Messages regarding Veterans Day sent by e-mail and on the video sign board
  • Media and Video Production students created a video interviewing MVCTC Youth Connections graduate from Vandalia-Butler High School, Chad Turner.  Chad earned the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal for heroism while serving in the Marine Corps in Afghanistan. 
  • Social Studies teacher Robin Speer, worked with her students to research, create, and distribute red paper poppies for staff in honor of Veterans Day

Academics Supervisor, Mr. Eric Dolan organized all events scheduled at MVCTC on Veterans Day. The MVCTC staff does a wonderful job of honoring our veterans and encouraging the entire school to be involved in observing Veterans Day.
