MVCTC Electives, Business, Information Technology, and Agriculture Students of the Month February 2016

Englewood, Ohio - The Miami Valley Career Technology Center (MVCTC) Electives, Business, Information Technology, and Agriculture (EBITA) Department under the leadership of Supervisor, David Peltz, recognizes a Student of the Month each month during the school year.  The award honors outstanding accomplishments and leadership in Career Tech Education.

 

February EBITA Students of the Month

Ben Ferguson, Sport Management and Marketing; Jamie Martin, Game Programming and Web Applications; and Brandon Spears, Game Programming and Web Applications were recently recognized the February 2016 Career Tech Students of the Month honorees from the Electives, Business, Information Technology, and Agriculture Department.

 

Ben Ferguson (Miami East High School) from Mr. Zach Gueth’s Sport Management and Marketing Program, was recognized for demonstrating the qualities of leadership and work ethic.  Mr. Gueth stated, “Ben recently finished his RAP project with a presentation on the effects steroids have on athletes and he did a tremendous job.”  Additionally, Ben has shown an excellent work ethic all year and he has excelled in the classroom.  Mr. Gueth added, “Ben has a bright future in front of him.”

 

Brandon Spears (Tippecanoe High School) from Mrs. Melissa Goodall’s Game Programming and Web Applications Program, was recognized for his outstanding scholarship in the classroom and his extra work with College Credit Plus.  Mrs. Goodall stated, “Brandon’s GPA is so high this year that he has been invited to join the Sigma Alpha Phi Leadership organization at Sinclair Community College.”

 

Jaime Martin (Miamisburg High School) from Melissa Goodall’s Game Programming and Web Applications Program, was recognized for outstanding work and diligence with coding.  Mrs. Goodall explained, “Jaime did an outstanding job producing a puzzle solver program as part of her CIS 1111 Final Exam.  She created over 900 lines of code!”  Mrs. Goodall also added that Jamie is an outstanding leader and her class President.

 

Congratulations to Ben, Brandon, and Jaime for being recognized as the Electives, Business, Information Technology, and Agriculture Students of the Month at MVCTC.  

 

For over 40-years, MVCTC has been providing career technical education for 27 partner school districts encompassing five counties in Southwest Ohio.  MVCTC is dedicated to providing in-demand workforce training for youth, adults, and organizations in the Miami Valley.
