Veterinary Science Students Compete in State FFA Animal Behavior, Welfare and Husbandry Contest

On April 13, 2016, four veterinary science students competed in the State Animal Behavior, Welfare and Husbandry Career Development Event (CDE) at the Ohio State Fair Grounds. Those student were Stacia Weathington (Eaton), Marianna Lauofo (Miamisburg), Makayla Day (Northmont), and Josie Zamora (Wayne). The items they were competing on were an online exam, a video audit for a river otter, a live audit for a corn snake, an activity to create an enrichment item, and the enrichment item presentation for a sun conure. They were tested on their knowledge of each animals behavior, welfare and husbandry. They placed 2nd as a team over all. Individually Zamora placed 10th, Weathington placed 12th, Lauofo placed 15th, and Day placed 30th.  They worked hard as a team and were able to place well this year!
