MVCTC Students Succeed at FCCLA State Conference

Columbus, Ohio – Miami Valley Career Technology Center (MVCTC) Culinary Arts, Early Childhood Education, and Hospitality Services students competed in the Ohio Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) Competition on April 27-29, in Columbus.    Many students qualified to represent Ohio at the FCCLA National Leadership Conference July 3-7, in San Diego, CA.

 

MVCTC students winning their state competition include:

  • Chapter Review Portfolio Team of MARIAH BARBER, Early Childhood Education junior from Preble Shawnee, and SARAH PENCE, Early Childhood Education junior from Northridge, placed 1st and qualified for Nationals

 

  • Chapter Service Display Team of LYDIA RUSSELL, Early Childhood Education junior from Valley View, and LEVI SCHIDECKER, Early Childhood Education junior from Vandalia-Butler, placed 1st and qualified for Nationals

 

  • Illustrated Talk Team of SARAH SHERANKO, Early Childhood Education junior from Tippecanoe, and KRISTEN TIMMONS, Early Childhood Education junior from Northmont, placed 1st and qualified for Nationals

 

  • Life Event Team of ALEXIS BELLOMY, Early Childhood Education junior from Wayne, and AALIYAH BRINER, Early Childhood Education junior from Ansonia, placed 1st and qualified for Nationals

 

  • National Program in Action Team of  ABIGAIL ADKINS, Early Childhood Education junior from Eaton, and KYLAH COLBERT, Early Childhood Education junior from Wayne, placed 1st and qualified for Nationals

 

  • Career Investigation - DALTON NOLAND, Culinary Arts junior from Eaton, placed 2nd and qualified for Nationals

 

  • Entrepreneurship - MADISON WHITNEY-SCHAALE, Culinary Arts junior from Miamisburg, placed 1st and qualified for Nationals

 

  • Applied Math for Culinary Management - JACOB JENKINS, Culinary Arts junior from Eaton, won a gold medal

 

  • Chapter Service Portfolio Team of MICHAEL DAVIS, Early Childhood Education senior from Vandalia-Butler, JANELLE MEARS, Early Childhood Education senior from Arcanum, and STEPHANIE MILLER, Early Childhood Education senior from Carlisle, won a gold medal

 

  • Focus on Children Team of ALEXIS ADKINS, Early Childhood Education junior from Miami East, and ALLY RATZEL, Early Childhood Education junior from Northmont, won a gold medal

 

  • Food Innovations Team of KATLYN KING, Culinary Arts junior from Eaton, and ASHLEIGH WILLIAMSON, Culinary Arts junior from Wayne, won a gold medal

 

  • Job Interview - ZYONDA GIBSON, Culinary Arts junior from Northmont, won a gold medal

 

  • Life Event Team of KAYLA ADAMS, Early Childhood Education senior from Wayne, and  ELIZABETH TRITTSCHUH, Early Childhood Education senior from Arcanum, won a gold medal

 

  • Pastry Tray Event -  Courtney Hustead, Culinary Arts junior from Miamisburg, won a gold medal

 

  • Garde Manger - JEREMIAH STOCKSLAGER, Culinary Arts junior from Arcanum, won a silver medal

 

  • Hospitality, Tourism and Recreation - CHEYENNE MEYERS, Culinary Arts junior from Tri-Village, won a silver medal

 

  • Product Development Team of JENNIFER FISHER, Culinary Arts junior from Bethel, and CHASITY GAYLES, Culinary Arts junior from Dunbar, placed 2nd and earned a gold medal
  • Life Event Planning- HOLLY GREEN, Culinary Arts junior from Tippecanoe, placed 3rd and earned a gold medal

At the State FCCCLA Conference, Culinary Arts junior Jennifer Fisher (Bethel), was voted the new Ohio FCCLA Vice President of Development for the 2016-2017 school year.
