Description
We are an independent metal testing lab, located in Dayton, Ohio. We are looking for a full-time team member in our Machine Shop and Mechanical Testing department. It should be noted that we are a small team, and correspondingly, each member of the team gets trained in a wide range of skills in order to create redundancies throughout our operations.
General list of tasks:
-Operation of mechanical testing machines, software and hardware.
-Operation of precision measurement tools such as calipers and micrometers.
-Operation of manual and CNC milling and turning machinery and various types of small industrial saws.
-Recording and basic analysis of testing data for reporting and certification purposes.
-Reading and interpreting technical specifications and documents.
-Adherence to Quality system.
-Use of hand tools, pneumatic and powered cutting/grinding tools.
-Routine equipment and facility maintenance.
Skills
Operation of equipment and procedures will be taught, and prior experience is not necessary.
Attention is to detail is pivotal, as we are providing certifications for materials used in a massive variety of industries.
Must be willing to work with hands; the work can be physically demanding.
A firm grasp of algebra and the English language is required.
Experience with conversational milling and turning software, specifically, is a plus, but once again, is not required.
Days / Hours
We are looking for a full time employee (30-40 hours weekly.) Our hours of operation are Monday - Friday 8am-5pm.
Overtime opportunities are rare and optional.
Moderately flexible schedules are available based on circumstances.
Pay Range & Benefits
$18-20/hour starting
Medical, dental, vision eligibility after 60 days
40 hrs Vacation after 90 days
