Description

GENERAL DESCRIPTION / PRIMARY PURPOSE
Maintenance Apprentice must learn basic knowledge on hydraulic, mechanical, welding, pipefitting and electricity and conduct quality and Safety Inspections. • Install, maintain, and troubleshoot food processing equipment, motors, starters, etc. Support the production process by reducing equipment down through accurate and effective trouble shooting. Must be able to work under pressure and make repairs in a timely manner.

Position is considered “safety sensitive” which requires the passing of an independently administered drug screen.


Skills

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS/DUTIES OF THE POSITION
 Must learn proper safety, GMP and food safety procedures.
 Must learn basic knowledge in hydraulic, pneumatics, mechanical, welding, pipefitting and electricity.
 All facets of maintenance machine repair and building maintenance will have to be learned including:
 Rebuilding gearboxes, painting, cylinder repair, bearing replacement, compressors, conveyors, pumps.
 Ability to work safely, follow directions and conduct quality and safety inspections.
 Must have the ability to make decisions, appear to work on time, follow directions, interact well with co-workers, understand and follow posted work rules/procedures and to accept constructive criticism.
 EPM data entry.
 Employees must adhere to all policies, practices, and SOP’s related to producing Safe Quality Food (SQF)
 Ensure the integrity and continued operation of the food safety system in the event of organizational or personnel changes within the company or associated facilities
 Support special projects and other duties as assigned
E. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to maneuver around an array of equipment, to work in a cold environment, bend, stoop, climb stairs, and lift up to 50 pounds. Able to work in a cold environment (35* on Plant floor). (Notification required due to the Americans with Disabilities Act).
G. WORK HOUR REQUIREMENT (Indicate all that apply and specify whether it is preferred or required.)
 Ability to work overtime including weekends as required.

Training is typically help on 1st shift Monday-Friday 6am-230pm, then you transition into the shift you were offered during the interview (1st, 2nd, or 3rd)

Pay Range & Benefits

$23.37-$35.76 (depending on experience)
