Description
The Engineering Aide III will inspect, test and maintain records of construction projects within the City's jurisdiction to ensure that work conforms to plans, specifications and standards. Responsibilities include working from city, state and private engineering firms' drawings and be in close contact with contractors and city work crews to ensure that quality work is performed. The Engineering Aide III will be required to resolve minor construction problems that are not covered by plans and specifications and work as a liaison between City engineers, contractors and architects.
Skills
1. Associate's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering or a closely related field AND have 4 years of experience in government or private construction, surveying, inspection or drafting; OR
2. High school diploma or G.E.D. AND have 8 years of experience in government or private construction, surveying, inspection or drafting.
