  • FAA Certified Program

  • Earn Associates Degree before leaving high school
  • Potential for college credits from Sinclair Community College
The MVCTC Aviation Maintenance Technician program will prepare students for a career as a fully certified Aircraft Technician. After completing the program, students can go to work immediately for an airline or airport, with no further college or military experience required! Because of the actual running and flyable aircraft and training aids in the Aviation Technician lab, this program provides students with everything needed to become a fully certificated Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) Technician. As technology advances, we are continuing to update our training aids to keep up with industry standards.

In the Aviation Maintenance Technician program, students learn avionics repair, electrical trouble shooting, sheetmetal and composites repair, aircraft servicing, taxiing and marshalling, turbine engine and reciprocating engine overhaul and theory, hydraulics and pneumatics repair. This is just a small list of the material that is covered in this program. Students will learn all the skills required to become an Aviation Maintenance Professional.

MVCTC is a Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) certified school and a certified testing center for the Airframe (the entire aircraft except the engine) and the Powerplant (the engine) and propellers. The program is regularly inspected by the FAA to ensure compliance with all regulations. This guarantees the student a quality education.

There is a need today for more technicians than in the past. More people are flying with smaller, "no-frills" lower airfare airlines like United Express and US Air Express. The smaller airlines are purchasing new aircraft and hiring many technicians.

Students successfully completing the Aviation Maintenance Technician program have the opportunity to earn college credit at Sinclair Community College and Eastern New Mexico University (ENMU). Graduates of the program can continue their education at Sinclair in the Professional Pilot program or Aerospace Engineering field. The agreement with ENMU allows MVCTC students in this program to take two to four online courses. After successfully completing the classes, students earn their Associates Degree from ENMU and FAA certification before graduating MVCTC!

The Aviation Maintenance Technician program has been approached by numerous aviation facilities asking for over 400 graduates to immediately fill technician jobs right here in the tri-state area!
